According to the official Fortnite Documentation on Communities, you must be a community owner to Link Channels to an Island. This is frustrating as someone primarily runs the community, and has either Publishing or Admin access on all islands, but doesn’t own the Community page.
Please allow Communities Admins to link islands we have access to.
