Abyssal // ambient art experiment

I’ve been putting off deep-diving into Niagara for the longest time, but finally over the weekend spent some time trying to create something along the lines of Refik Anadol’s “Bosphorus”: Refik Anadol, "Bosphorus A," 2018 on Vimeo

  • 600k Niagara GPU mesh particles, propelled and guided by slowly panning curl noise
  • Collisions with ground mesh using distance fields
  • Skylight and directional light (cascaded shadows), voumetric exponential height fog
  • Extremely shallow depth of field using CineCamera
