Absolute Newb How do I even set up my workstation etc

I’m sure this is covered somewhere, but search yielded nothing. I’ve seen questions where it looks like the OP is asking this question, but the answers are related to the next phase, as if the set up is done…

I am not building games or scenes, I’m just needing to build out a particle audio virtualizer. I have a set of great videos about that (so I don’t need help on that, yet), but my screen looks nothing akin to theirs, I can’t figure out how to find the various windows to dock them and I definitely don’t have the right plugins installed or enabled. I’m well versed in Premiere Pro and can work well enough in Resolve. It seems like my ability in Premiere puts my poor brain at a disadvantage re set up and functional capabilities. I should note that I have a pretty severe neurological impairment, so I tend to need common sense info to fill in blanks.

Can anyone point me to a simple (free) tutorial on the basics of what is what in Unreal? And how do I make sure I have the minimal plugins I need for a “nothing fancy” creation?

I have no problem diving in and following those tutorial once I understand how to start from point blank.

Much appreciation, I’m sure the newbie set up questions get old for the experienced folks.

I’d still like to understand Unreal, but a Blender video took me to an option to do what I need, with a less overwhelming software. Thanks to anyone who responds to this, but at least for now, it’s not urgernt. And I found a couple of tutorials in this forum that answered a couple of questions…I just wish Unreal was a bit more straightforward for someone opening it the first time.

Could you post pictures of their desktop, you could get keywords to what you need search for, if people recognize what they are using.

That’s a great idea. I’ll do that and come back to this thread when I’m done with the performance I’m frantically trying to complete by the 5/31 show…first professional booking, so it’s kinda cool.

After exporting all of the Unreal videos, I know I want to learn it…Have a great day, I will be back!

AAANNNDDD, after hours of searches I can’t figure out how to mix all the blender tutorials to what I envision. honestly I keep coming back to this video that works for what I need. I have to “just start” soon, since that’s obviously the best way to learn Unreal, or Blender for that matter. But the Niagara videos I’m watching would make me have creator’s remorse if I don’t actually make a true effort at this in Unreal.

The video workspace is pretty straight forward, I don’t need to screw with it for now. But I can’t for the life of me find the basics except for by chance…even the first thing of opening up the particle emitter. I would think I’m capable of opening files and subfiles, sigh, but if I start a new project, I have to click till I come upon it. Once I get my bearings, I’ll be able to follow along and even make changes. I need a set of training wheels I guess.

How do I know if I am missing plug ins? I only have the starter content. Is that enough?

I fully realize I’m overthinking it or just too in my own head.
