About to install UE5 for the first time

I’m familiar is a very basic roundabout way with UE4. Never really created anything with it though but I’ve just purchased a new UE5 Fundamentals course and I thought I’d start fresh.
PC specs are decent, although not bang up to date circa 2023:

2080Ti FE
Intel(R) Core™ i7-8086K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4.01 GHz
64.0 GB
Windows 11. 500GB SSD main drive, and a few other drives for storage.

Thinking of getting 64GB of RAM to boost mine to 128. And possibly an external Samsung 2TB SSD Touch Drive.
What would you say would be a priority? The RAM, external SSD or something else? I personally feel my GPU is perfectly fine, but I may be wrong with the latest AMD cards out there.

Cheers in advance.

Hi Kiarian,

Right now I think 32GB of RAM is good for UE5 development. You can open your task manager (CTRL+Shift+Escape) and visualize how much RAM you’re using. As long as your RAM isn’t maxing out while developing, you’re good.

Storage speed would be the priority. If you’re thinking about external SSD, consider how fast the connections are on the I/O of your motherboard.
