Are the first person arms compatible with the Epic standard rig?
Yes, there is an extra bone that won’t transfer over but also won’t cause any trouble or errors. The arms are also interchangeable with
any weapon pack purchased from IB.
Will you be releasing SMGs in 3-packs?
Yes- we’ve gotten some feedback from folks that purchase one weapon before we’ve released a 3-pack. We completely understand
and are working hard to get the 3-packs up as quickly as possible to give you more options. We are also adding all kinds of good stuff
in the 3-packs like extra animations, attachments and extra functionality with future updates planned that include texture variations!
*3. Are the animations in the demo the same that are available in the weapon pack? *
Yes, the blueprint folder in the weapon packs has the same animations we show off in the demo video.
4. Can the weapons be used in 3rd person?
We include 3 LOD meshes of each weapon so you could just use LOD2 and reduce the texture resolution and/or simplify the shader for your third person game.
All of our guns are game ready with 3 LODs, multiple meshes, 4k textures, and come with a free set of rigged and animated first person arms!
Here’s our initial WIP shots of the Micro-Uzi… and yes, for those who are love guns, we realize that the Micro is sometimes classified as an auto-pistol The real life version of this thing is based on the Uzi Pistol and it is TINY. Micro is NOT an exaggeration! As I was looking over the model screenshot earlier I realized that on my screen it was pretty close to 1:1 scale with the real thing.
We start the process by getting the shape correct and defining where most of the moving parts are located / how they operate. The reference image is in the background for this one.
We are progressing through our High poly sculpt of this weapon. We like to exaggerate our curves in the HP mesh as it makes a noticeable difference when we bake the normals out down the road, just incase anyone’s worried about a bubbly Uzi We’ll keep the updates coming here, should have the low poly done shortly and this weapon ready for prime time by the end of the week
We’ve finished up work on the Micro-Uzi, shown with our First Person Arms for a nice side view. Next up, we’re going to share some WIP shots of the MP7A1.

Cool mesh again, but you never hold an mp this way (left hand).
The barrel is very short too, when you are grabbing at frontpos, where it should rest, the danger of slipping your hand in front of barrel is big.
When shoulder rest is extended, you press it against shoulder and have right hand free for drinking coffee or opening doors.
This way your weapon will get no “security tested” ISO 2009 label!
Well keep in mind that some of us our left handed(Me) so you can’t let the right handed people have all of the fun out there
In terms of the barrel, the Micro-Uzi has a very short stubby barrel, this isn’t to be confused with a Mini-Uzi which has a larger barrel or the full Uzi which is even larger: UZI Talk - The Micro UZI
You will be happy to know though that I was running around in UE4 with my Coffee in one hand and I was still able to shoot many grey boxes heh
@ - YOU WIN! … did you cheat by looking at the file name? Nah, I know you’re more on the ball than that, it just made me laugh when I realized it had the name of the gun in the source file
A little more work on the Mp7a1… and I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving
In anticipation of the release of our first SMG onto the marketplace this wednesday we thought it appropriate to make the sketchfab model public so you can inspect it in glorious detail leading up to the release. We went with a nice beaten look to the metal and love the way it turned out
Here is another shot of our first SMG release, the animated and rigged Micro-Uzi, shown here in the Unreal engine. Just like all of our other assets packs, the Micro-Uzi will include a set of AAA quality First Person arms that are animated and rigged as well. Our plan is to submit the MP7A1 next, but in the meantime, we are excited about getting the Micro-Uzi up on the marketplace tomorrow! http://ironbellystudios.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Micro_uzi_Unreal1.png
Beautiful stuff ! I do have a question though. It should be obvious but i just want to make sure. You guys model piece by piece right? So its possible i can export out of ue4 and animate the foregrip, sights, and stock if i needed to?
