Update: The FP Hands pack has been updated so that you can now use the hands separately or together, for any type of project such as a VR experience or a FPS game. There is another update on the way that separates the hands from the skeleton, making use for VR easier.
The animated photorealistic First Person Hands 3-pack from Ironbelly Studios are fully rigged and animated. These hands were pulled straight out of our very popular First person arms pack](Animated First Person Arms Pack in Characters - UE Marketplace) and contain the same ultra high quality assets only with the arms cut off at the wrists and the price cut nearly in half!
The assets in this pack include bare male hands, bare female hands (different nail polish colors and as well as a version with no nail polish included) and fingerless gloved male hands with a badass camo patterns. There are also a variety of skin tones included in the pack for the male, female and gloved hands.
Our FP hands pack is now available (https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/aaa-animated-first-person-hands-pack)! These assets were designed from the ground up with VR in mind, are cut off at the wrist and ready to be used in conjunction with a motion leap, Oculus Rift Controller, Razer Hydra or any VR handheld device.
Here’s a shot of the FP hands with camo gloves:
Hi
Nice pack but i would like to know in which circumstance we can use it ? because its a first person and we cant see the arm. So if you make some animation like your previous pack this looks is a bit weird.
Hey Ymir, a lot of VR projects need hands but don’t want the arms because they get in the way of the camera and cause to many issues when used with controllers like those shipping with the Rift or the Hydra. Or perhaps you just want a bunch of hands on a wall(this is an actual use-case that was expressed in our FPS arms pack thread). The main thing here is VR though
Here’s another shot of the photo-realistic hands, up close. Let us know in the comments if you have any other uses in mind or if you would like to see any other variations of these hands.
How would I go about syncing these with razor hydras? can I just separate the meshes so I can have just left or right hands to sync with motion controller components. Thank you
Hi Ironbelly Champion, I would just like to know how to get the hands to work with the razor hydra as I have everything working but when I attach a static mesh to motion control it wont allow me to select the hands and even if I did I don’t see it allowing me to have just left and right hands seperated. Is there a way you have got them to work with the hydra?
Hey there @RasFW apologies for the delay in responding with an update for ya. We’re cranking away on a bunch of weapons/updates and this is definitely near the top of our long list. It’s possible that you can hide one of the hands as a short term work around, while we get this update taken care of!
Is there a way for the people who already purchased the pack to get the fbx files. These animations don’t fit to what I am trying to accomplish. I can’t pair the hands to the VR controllers
Update on the Update: We’ve submitted the update to Epic today (here’s hoping its a quick turn around), to ensure that you can separate the hands for individual use. Folks who have already purchased the pack will get the update automatically, and anyone who is considering purchasing will now have two options when using this great asset!
While we wait for the update to be pushed through, why not have some fun with the females hands on Sketchfab:
Just got word that the update has been made and now anyone who has already purchased the pack will be able to use them separately or together. For those that haven’t grabbed the pack yet…what are you waiting for
Hey Ironbelly! Love the hands, any plans on a left hand punch attack since animation mirroring is not implemented? How about a close fingers to fist animation that does not move backwards for a punch, for like grabbing items or holding stuff? These would be most helpful
I have bought this pack to add hands to my VR game. I also bought a couple of gun packs from you. I use the Vive motion controllers to add the hands to the motion-controllers left and right. That works but now I want to hold a gun in that hand (or a flashlight for that matter) but there is no animation for this. I saw that there is a shoot animation in the FirstPersonPBIronbelly/Arms/Animation/ANIM_Berretta_m9_ADSIdle. But in the IBFPSHands/Hands package, there is no animation. How can I combine the 2 packs I have bought to have:
Have the hands in the motion controller (already OK)
Have a animation of a single hand holding a gun
Have a trigger animation of the hand holding the gun
Have the animations in both left and right hand.
Reuse an existing animation to e.g. hold a flashlight.
