Not sure if it is planned already, but I think packs of different weapons types would be great, rather than individuals. Such as Assault rifle pack, SMG pack, LMG pack, sniper rifles etc…
I guess you could do something like this when you have made more for each category, this would be something I would look into buying, rather than individual weapons.
@Wolf Tide Games - The M4A1 is on our to-do list for sure. We’d hit the AK 47 series if we went back to WW2 era for sure, but at the moment we’re focused on getting a good list of modern weapons, so we’d be more likely to hit the AK74Us larger brother the AK-74.
@MDidehvar - We’re planning on having all kinds of different packs. Our first pack was all the same type (pistols). Our next is this mixed pack. The one after it is PROBABLY going to be a Pistol 5 pack (the same as the 3 pack + the Desert Eagle and G18) and/or the Assault Rifle 3 pack (XM8, SCAR, SKS). No confirmed dates on these but we’re certainly planning to try to get a good number of both mixed or matched packs and of varying sizes to meet the needs. It seems for every person we get that says “I want a 3 or 5 (or more) pack” we get another that says “I just want to buy them one at at time as I need them.” So we’re trying to strike a good balance without simply flooding the marketplace with every possible option.
It’d be super cool if we could have a system where you could just pick and 3 or 5 or 10 and get a discount at the end But I don’t think that is going to happen anytime soon!
The SKS is in production! Here’s some screenshots of the work in progress! And yes, we know its not an “assault” rifle, but we’re not about to make another thread just for carbines
@Necrophob Is there a secret society pushing for sci-fi weapons? Apparently we keep getting requests for them, so they’re certainly on our radar! We’ve got a bunch more modern weapons in production to get through first, however.
I just added this to project but have some issues - the xm8 for example has
a bullet on the side of the skeletal mesh which is a pain as I don’t need this attached to the gun when importing
the orientation is not along the x axis which is pretty much default - I only know how to change the orientation by exporting and importing via fbx but this crashed the editor every time on import as skeletal mesh
I picked up the AK 74, it’s pretty nice, however, the fps arms / animations on this one aren’t compatible with the Epic skeleton, retargetting leaves the hands misaligned.
Most people just hide that mesh and trust me we have had lengthy conversations about Axis Orientation over here. In UE4 with almost every asset include the default mannequin rigs y is forward. When you make blueprints and have characters move “forward” they do so in the x posistive axis. BUT for assets when you import them they should be facing the Y posistive axis. We dont know why Epic does it like this but every asset is in unreal, on the market and the default mannequin rig character in the asset viewer it is facing y +. So that’s why we went with that
Could you take me through you steps to retarget the anims to the epic skeleton? Chances are you’ve left a silly box unchecked or something like that. We triple test everything before submitting so I’ve seen these things retarget and work 100% personally in our test environments. Feel free to PM me a screenshot of what the misaligned hands look like
Is there any chance you guys are going to release your max/maya files for the weapons and the arms? Because at the moment exporting them as fbx doesnt give a workable rig for the arms.
Hey @Shirk, we aren’t planning on releasing the max files for the weapons and the arms, and we’re not sure why you are having trouble getting the rig to work. Do you mind emailing us at support@ironbellystudios.com with more details? Thanks!
Its not so much that the rig isnt working, its that its not ideal to animate with when its exported and theres no such things are wrist controllers or anything.
