Hello. While I worked in one of the older versions of Twinmotion, i managed to mark a lot of assets as “Favourite”. But when I updated to a newer version - my “saved” assets got lost. Is there a way to preserve them while getting updates of TM?
hello, I too hate the way libraries are managed. I don’t use favorites, but every downloaded assets have to be downloaded again.
I did’nt try to copy content from documents\twinmotion[version]\twinmotioncloudlibrary to another (same for sketchfab, quixel…) but i know for sure that it works for userlibrary.
Perhaps it’d be easier for future updates if you create your own user library for materials & assets rather than favouriting stuff
you can set a folder as user library, and just update the path when you change your version:
from edit/preferences/settings/custompaths
This doesn’t make sense to me. I have a User library setup for custom assets I’ve made, but none of the downloaded assets are in it - they are in the appropriate folders such as Megascans and Sketchfab folders created when I get a new release of Twinmotion.
How is retention of these through future versions of TM managed with assets downloaded from Megascans and Sketchfab? The objects I download from those two will go into those specific folders and not into my user library.
Are you saying that we need to move all of those assets over to our User library in order to continue using them from release to release? I am on a very slow internet connection and while I always look forward to the new TM releases, I dread having to re-download all of my assets into the new versions folders. I would love to find a way to download assets only once and use them in any version I’m currently using.
you can just remap the library path to the ones of the previous releases
