A Story of Hope

Hello everyone,
I currently working on my first Game ever and wanted to share some WIP Screenshots with you.
And since I’m a single developer i would appreciate ever feedback you can give.

It’s mostly a Story driven Exploration Game where you can do some cool stuff

Not bad so far! I like the visual style. Any plot details you are willing to share?

Impressive! I am in the same boat as you, making my first game, which is also a first-person adventure game.

I wonder, how do you implement the background blur, when you pick up the photo frame?
Edit: Nevermind. Turn out there is a background blur under special effect in UMG graph editor. 5mins work & its done. Gonna love UE4.

Also, I sub your thread.

Sure  Let’s say the story revolves around ordinary objects with special abilitys and their story behind it. What they did to their users and so on. The Player can actually use some of these to open portals or do some silly stuff with it (Like turning the moon red).

Actually I used the post processing of the Camera to make a smooth transition to blur the background.

Thanks for the kind words by the way

That was cool. Love the attention to detail. I suppose the same can be done using the background blur canvas (or whatever i is called) by animating the Blur value.

Yeah, there is more than one way to get the job done. .

I like what you have done so far, and look forward to seeing you develop your game. Good Luck !

Today i worked on a Promoimage for my Game.

Finished a rough Version of a Website today: https://astoryofhope-game.com/

And here are a few more gifs

Not feeling the promo image. Took me a while to know its a female also, mostly the hair. Also tell me very little about the game. But I guess its a start.

The new Gifs are awesome though. Is it suppose to be time traveling or 2 different places?

More like different realities

Currently working on a new scene

Looks cool, as in creepy.

Making some progress on the scene i showed last week

I don’t know why but i really like to make fancy doors

this seems pretty cool

Working on a new scene. The books are still missing

The library is nearly finished

Looks nice, I like the moody atmosphere, I would probably be freaking out if I played this at night in a dark room, graphics look nice

Thank you

I have done a new animation in sequencer, every book comes from a different corner of the room.

Worked on a first simple main menu recently
