A real concern Sequels often get fewer players than their original prequels.

Why do sequels with better polish, optimization, and much bigger budgets often get fewer players than their prequels? This is a perfect example that quality ≠ player count, and it proves the system is flawed. Most players only care about what’s immediately in front of them and what’s trending. So instead of focusing purely on what’s popular before players even try the game, why not put quality first and only reveal popularity after they click? Many successful platforms already do this — and it works. I suggest testing my idea for just 12 hours to see how accurate my take really is. And no, I didn’t cherry-pick examples. There are plenty more like these. All I did was search for sequels (2, 3, etc.) and compare them to their prequels. The pattern was so clear that I figured something was off just by looking at Discovery for 2 days. !:warning:
