A few odd issues (World composition, standalone builds, performance)

Ok, so in pursuit of locking down performance issues and other issues I’ve noticed following (in Unreal 4.5.1).

– Exponential Heightfog disappears when PIE (play in editor) or when you cook game when used in conjunction with world composition. Fog has been placed in persistent level, deleted and re-added for testing purposed.

– In a windowed mode (this could be graphics card dependant) with a 780m I loose on average 20FPS or increase 5 - 10 ms latency. I noticed this from a standalone build, it was odd that entering full screen Alt+P and setting r.SetRes 1920x1080 increased performance drastically.

– Dependant on screen size, pawn / character will drop through floor

– In editor dependant on screen size, camera will appear closer or further away from actor / character

– texture scalability settings (from engine scalability) will cause tile edges to break apart when using world composition.

That’s all I have for today :)…

Hey

Each of these issues deal with different parts of engines, and we generally prefer to track them separately so we can focus correct developers on them. Please open a new post for each of these issues with as many details as you can provide, including reproduction steps and images when possible. Thanks!

On bigger screen I had 20fps, with a bit smaller, boom, I got 40 fps. Maybe someone knows what’s happening?
