Between constant login loading and the Red error screen of late updating has become impossible
Deleting cache does not fix it
This has been an issue since the last update about 2 weeks ago.
Check if UE conflicts with your antivirus or firewall. I had Windows Defender blocking the launch
I checked that a few days ago, never had this issue before 36.10 but figured it might be that but I have every UE related anything excluded from firewall 
usually starts with a red error screen after trying to load a play session then login issues start, sometimes before that though, it is very random too, it doesn’t happen every time but its at least 50% either a login issue or a error on loading a play session, nothing really fixes it other than waiting a while and a task bar exit, but i have also noticed that since the last patch the task bar aligns fortnite differently now, a lot more things seem attached to the epic games launcher now so i am assuming this is a epic games launcher login issue because of some recent changes more than anything
Definitely feels like something on Epic’s end after that update.

if not login issues it’s dx12 issues or revision control issues or fn.exe login issues or apparently lack of virtual memory issues causing errors or anti cheat etc etc
its a epic issue and so were kinda screwed till after summer i guess
had this again today happen after the 37.20 update today
was not happening for the last few months, till today’s update. just like last time.
thankfully i know the fix now though if anyone needs it:
search %localappdata%
find
\AppData\Local\UnrealEditorFortnite\Saved
Delete all BUT the ones highlighted in screenshot, these are your actual local project folders so do not delete them
this will then relog you in correctly when you start uefn back up
