I’ve been trying to use modular rigs and I still can’t get it to work. The controls don’t appear in the correct locations. The shape section is grayed out so you can’t manually adjust it. The shoulder module requires specific naming convention for the bones. The leg module doesn’t create foot sockets. In my case, I then tried it on a simple skeletal mesh. It’s a simple robot on wheels. The neck module works ok. But the wheel module won’t attach to the rest of the body via module hierarchy because I think it’s made for vehicles, not humanoid skeleton. The suspension module just gives up and destroys all the blue socket connectors in the entire rig. The arm module won’t work for me because my robot doesn’t have hands.
The real advantage should have been automatic IK, but I can’t get any of that working. I’m not even sure modular rigs support reverse solves. And I don’t seem to be able to manually add it.
Anyone know what the current state of modular rigs is at? Seems like a nice idea, but so far it’s only cost me a lot of wasted time.
