I just Installed UE 5.7.2 and every time it gets stuck on “35% submitting global shader DDC Requests“ . Even in new Projects.
While it is stuck at 35%, the RAM usage goes from 900MB to about 1200MB very very slowly. 0.5-1MB per second. And after that, it opens up normally.
I verified it from the Epic GamesLauncher, it just downloaded ~2MB and said everything is fine.
Gemini told me to “Navigate to %LOCALAPPDATA%\UnrealEngine\Common\ and delete the DerivedDataCache and Zen folders“. This makes it not get stuck on 35% but them it recompiles all 14,000+ Shaders at 45%
I previously only worked with UE 5.4 And I never had this problem.
