5.6 “IK Retargeter bone chain, Root, was unable to be normalized. Chain too short” solution

I believe many of you have already encountered this issue with the IK retargeter. It may cause problems when exporting animations. This happens to almost any retargeter with automatic chains and default ops.

Temp fix for now:

  1. In both the source IK and target IK, remove the Root chain.
  2. Recreate the root chains again (if you really need them). DO NOT let the Root chain on top! That’s the trick.
