Since I updated to 5.6 when I place down a cube grid my character falls through the map or there is no collision if its a wall. Any ideas on how to solve this?
Hello, welcome to the Forums.
You mentioned 5.6 but posted in the Fortnite/UEFN section. Which are you using?
There was a change in UEFN recently where no collision is the default for newly created meshes…
I have tested this in standalone 5.6 also and found that no simple collisions are auto-generated when creating a cubegrid mesh anymore.
Tested with changing collision presets on the mesh in mesh editor and in level editor.
Went back to validate this was the default behaviour in 5.3 and confirmed that simple triangualted collision meshes were created.
The only solution is to set “Collision Complexity” to “Use Complex as Simple” which isn’t an efficient workaround.
Short of that, manual creation of collision meshes.
I am having the same issue, I checked in my 5.5.4 version and Cube Grid is working perfectly but in 5.6, collision isn’t there. This is big problem since 5.5.4 version collisions were auto generated. I hope they fix it cuz setting collision in Cube Grid tool manually would be nightmare.
Still an issue, no collisions are created for cube grids - which is a big problem (both UE5.6 and UEFN).
Found another relevant thread - UE 5.6 automatically creates cubegrid without collision - #3 by Enkeria_Gin
Is this being worked on? Is Epic aware of this?
May I ask if you have resolved this issue in the UE5.6 version later on
Yes, you will have to manually go in to set collision unfortunately!
