[5.5.4 Crash] External Image Picker: DecompressImage failed

The editor crashed with

LogSlate: External Image Picker: DecompressImage failed

The solution was to update the DefaultEngine.ini section [/Script/Engine.RendererSettings]
I did not went through trial & error to pin down the exact setting or combination of settings leading to this editor crash, but removing some more exotic and a double entry did the trick.

How exactly did you fix this ? i get this after i updated the drivers rolling back works but it is old drivers that doesn’t support newer versions of some software i use so i need to use the new drivers.

Make a backup of DefaultEngine.ini then replace it with the default one. Did this help?
Btw. I recently had a related crash but this was after the computer was restarted from sleep mode. It may also happen due to GPU heat, or perhaps some blueprint code.
