5.3.2 importing a FBX animation, player body looks elongated in the animations. i have used these animations before in U4 and i don’t think I had a problem. when placing the animation i standing the third person player next to it, the player in the animations looks like the wrong scale or something the body looks elongated.
are you attempting to retarget the animations to same UE4 skeleton, or to the UE5 skeleton? The new Mannequins have 2 extra spine bones and an extra neck bone, can lead to some issues.
i was using the 5.3 third person template, i would have exsported the animations from Ue4, but they are just FBX files, it makes since that there is two other bones, i guess to fix this i would have to bring the old UE4 player, then retarget it, or find new animations is their another way to fix it?
if they’re working on the UE4 Mannequin skeleton, you can migrate them from the old project to the new project’s content folder, without the skeleton; then open them in the new project and select the UE4 SK_Mannequin_Skeleton. I’ve had the best luck retargeting animations to either of the Mannequin Skeletons before retargeting them to alternative similar skeletons. You can try UE4->UE5 and UE5->UE4 using the template’s built-in retargeters and see what kind of results you get first
Too good mate, Thanks, I didn’t even realize they change the skeleton, i didn’t pay much attention to it, it would be annoying for people selling animations on the marketplace
