This is driving me nuts and I can’t find the solution anywhere. In 5.0+, the orange selection outline in the blueprint viewport seems to be turned off by default. The orange selection outline appears just fine in the general editor. It’s only missing in blueprints. If I click on an object in a blueprint I still get the move/scale/rotate widget, but that’s it.
I do not see an option to toggle this feature on or off in the blueprint editor, nor do I see it under editor preferences. In 4.x versions this was never a problem, so I’m not sure what I’m missing. I’m sure I’m just blind and completely overlooking the obvious answer.
In 5.1 my blueprint viewport selection is working normally.
Have you confirmed it is the engine version by testing in a new project? If working in a fresh project, I’d venture it’s just some weird bug in the problem project. Perhaps resetting editor preferences could help.
If you go in wireframe mode, does it highlight? (just curious, not sure what this might indicate other than it being a weird bug)
"It seems like the selection outline feature in the Blueprint viewport isn’t activating as expected. Double-check the editor preferences under ‘Viewport’ settings to ensure the selection outline option is enabled. If it’s already on, this might be a version-specific bug in 5.2. Consider reporting it to the Unreal Engine team or checking if any recent updates or patches address this issue.
