[5-0] Control Rig: Unable to correctly set a baisc IK without the mesh to get messed up

I’m trying to get a basic foot IK of my character.
The mesh is from this package: POLYGON - Sci-Fi Space Pack
The animations work fine, but not the the Control Rig.

I’ve watched a lot of tutorials from Andreas Suika, and I can’t seems to make it work properly.
I’ve tried different settings from the primary and secondary axis, but it doesn’t seems to work.

Any idea how to get it right?

I believe my problem is related to this topic: Is there a way to change the axis of rotation of a bone in your armature?

The bone axis orientation seems to be problematic.
