I have a project on 2 mac computers, both running 4.9.
I had to make a rebuild of my project on one of my computer and the built work but from after that point the Project won’t start. It’s not just the project. Even the ue 4.9 editor to open project won’t successfully launch, it stops at 35% and gives me these logs. So I did an uninstall and reinstall and restarted my computer but the same error occurs? Even when no projects are availalbe it still won’t start. Since I’m not using the ue4 git to install the editor. Is there anyway to rebuild the ue4 in xcode? Since in xcode it says it has no modules.
I will send in my crash logs.
it’s running on an mac mini.
You mentioned that you have 2 Mac computers and that this occurred when compiling the project on one of them? (I’m assuming thats what you mean by built, and not the build option in the editor for lighting).
Does this issue occur on both of your Mac computers or only one of them?
Are you unable to open the editor at all at this point, even with a fresh project?
Have you tried verifying you installation through the launcher?
As for rebuilding the engine, you’re unable to do so with the version downloaded from the launcher, as you’re missing multiple parts that are needed for that to be done.
One is working on mbpr which is my main dvelopment. The other mini I’m using as a hub for deploygate basically. Other engine versions seems to launch like 4.8 but 4.9 stop working after I did a few rebuilds of the project by removing some intermediate files. Mainly because I had my own java files and libraries that I added to my project.
Only on the mac mini one does this occur.
I’m not able to open the editor, or create a new project or open the current project. It stops at 35% and craches
I did very the install 2 times also reinstalling the engine 2 times but still same results.
I have done many of those things in that answer reply. But just in case I’ll try them tommorow as well. Thanks.
What’s most likely is that I made a bunch of rebuilds, (it kept deleting my java files) and because of that the Engine it self failed I guess. Don’t know if that is possible thou.
But yea even if I remove the entire project and have no projects it still won’t launch the editor so there is where I have my main problem.
Thank you for providing that information. You mentioned adding java files and libraries to your project. When removing these, does the issue persist? It may be part of the issue since it seems to of occurred after adding these files.
We haven’t heard from you in a while. Are you still experiencing these issues? If you are, please let me know and we can continue looking into this. In the meantime, I’ll be marking this issue as resolved for tracking purposes.
I fixed it. I went in to the mac folder
User/CompName/Library/Application Support/Epic/UnrealEngine/
and here I deleted 4.9 and I could open the Editor again as well as my project. I found the error by compiling in Frontend.
