Please provide the new epic character with a t-pose base pose as a separate download. I purchased animations from the marketplace designed for the old blue guy. I’m getting a lot of trouble retargeting those to the A-pose of the new character.
I request epic (or any contributor) to put the new character on the marketplace with a default t-pose as a separate download, for those of us who are no good at or can not get access to animators and maya.
A mobile base character is already on the marketplace so this is just a similar situation.
Hi Waves… Unfortunately the creator of the content is using a different or modified skeleton than our base skeleton which, here at Epic, remains the same between the old “Blue Man” and the new Silver Mannequin. Please contact the seller of the content first to see if you can get support. However, if you cannot get help, contact our Marketplace with the name of the pack you purchased and the problem you are having at: marketplace-support@unrealengine.com
To make animations work for me (About 95% of em anyway) I simply skipped retargetting and right clicked the mesh I got from the marketplace, selected “Skeleton” and chose to apply a new skeleton. I then selected the Unreal Engine’s skeleton and it asked if I wanted to add a neck bone. I said yes and voila! Now I had animations and the mesh I needed!
Long story short, just use the base skeleton you want and the animations come with it, no retargetting needed usually with marketplace characters (At least the military ones I have used).
