I wish I could provide more information than this, but I’m noticing that when I open a project in 4.7 preview 3, I can Play In Editor several times successfully, but on the 5th or 6th time the engine crashes. I’ve taken to saving before each time I press PIE; if I re-open the editor and try again, it works for a while and then crashes again. I don’t think it’s got anything to do with changes I’m making since, as I’ve said, if I save RIGHT BEFORE I play in editor every time, I can reopen the project after the crash and then play in editor just fine with the game set up in exactly the same way.
Actually some more testing reveals that this MAY be happening if I try to PIE after compiling but WITHOUT saving; the crashes only happen if I forget to hit Ctrl+S before pressing PIE. Perhaps it has to do with autosaving attempting to fire at the same time? I’ll keep testing it.
Hey -
When you say that you PIE after compiling are you referring to compiling the engine from Visual Studios or compiling a blueprint? If you’re compiling the project are you building in VS or using the hot reload in editor? If you don’t make any changes and do a compile, do you still crash if you don’t save?
Any additional information you can include will be helpful.
Cheers
Hi ,
We have not heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing the issue you reported, please respond to this message with additional information and we will offer further assistance.
Thank you.
So sorry!
Yeah, it’s on Blueprint compile.
What’s weird is it seems to have stopped happening just as soon as it’s started; it hasn’t happened at all the past few days. I’ll keep an eye on it.
