Hello Gennady,
I have tried running some tests using the ‘SceneColor’ node within a HUD Blueprint. It does seem there could be a bug here because I was not able use the ‘Draw Material’ node function in conjunction with ‘SceneColor’. However, as soon as I deleted the ‘SceneColor’ node within the material editor, I was able to draw the material as desired.
I am going to continue to investigate this issue and will return with any new information on the ‘SceneColor’ node expression being used with HUD’s. If you have any additional information or have further questions, please let us know.
Cheers,
Hey again Gennady,
After a bit more testing I decided to go ahead and enter a bug report for this issue (UE-12907). The documentation is limited on the ‘SceneColor’ node and its usage within the Engine.
When there is an update to this issue or a fix becomes integrated I will update this post. If you have further questions or need additional assistance, please let us know.
Cheers,
any news in 4.8? still not work
Hey Gennady,
The bug came back as not intended to work with HUD materials. Although this is not directly clear to the users at the time, we are considering possibly adding this as a new material domain. This is currently all the information on this feature at the moment.
We ask that if you are looking for further updates to the feature/fix, to head to our forums and look in the Release notes section. We update the threads with the most recent engine version releases as well as any hotfixes and updates made to the engine.
Thank you,
