HTML5 build plays fine on Desktop but not on any mobile browser. I get (Assertion failed: Cannot call unknown function on_fatal (perhaps LLVM optimizations or closure removed it?). Will HTML5 builds even play on mobile browsers or is there a setting I need to change? Thanks for your time.
Hi JCurtright,
A google search turned up this article which states that building an HTML5 game for mobile browsers is indeed possible, though there may be hardware/software limitations. However, I believe your problem may be related this known issue as addressed in this AnswerHub thread, and that the issue may be related to orthographic camera angles being unsupported by the mobile renderer. Can you try running your project in the mobile preview of the editor? If that does not work, it may be your problem.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, it is much appreciated. I have tried running it in the mobile preview in the editor and it runs fine (minus some textures). I have also tried some of the example projects (Blueprints, SunTemple mobile) and even just created a first person project with nothing added to it in an attempt to just get anything to play within the mobile browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Silk) without any luck. I think you are right that it probably has to do with the camera in some fashion so I will go educate myself on what needs to be done. Thanks again for the help and if you come across any examples that do work, I would appreciate if you would let me know. Have a great day!
Hello there, is there any solution for this? I am aiming to have very simple previews on my website, and it would be great if it also worked on mobile. Thanks
Ive managed to get an HTML5 game working through editing the .html file and removing .gz and also unpacking .gz into the same folder. The problem I think was something in the compression. Because it works perfectly fine on local host…
