I downloaded the project you sent me, thanks. Unfortunately no good news here. The only way to make my sand material to show up is still restarting the editor. Switching between the devices makes no difference.
Thanks for entering a JIRA issue. If you need me to try something please let me know.
The dev has gotten back to me about your project. The issue has been fixed, and he advised it was a problem in the cooker, that the shader worker wouldn’t save the material is some cases, for instance if it took too long to compile.
Currently, this won’t make it to 4.7.4 hotfix, but you can get the fix CL (2488256) from master branch of github (just this fix) if you want to not have to wait. I hope this helps, and I’m crossing my fingers for you!
OH I forgot to tell you, it IS gonna make it into the 4.7.4 hotfix, which is currently scheduled for next week release, so you don’t even have to worry about the github fix. It turned out to be more insidious than they at first realized, and could possibly affect more than just android users, so they decided to re-evaluate the priority and kicked its importance up. So thanks a ton for reporting, I’m very glad we could get it fixed and out to users as fast as possible.
Wow! It’s getting better and better. And I was already thinking about getting familiar with github, just for this one fix. I guess I can wait till next week. Again, thanks a lot!
