4.27 - Dynamic Facial Wrinkles Setup Not Working

I’m new with Unreal Engine so there’s a lot I’m still learning. I have 16 normals normal maps for my character’s head model which includes one static normal map representing the skin texture and fifteen wrinkle maps. To set this up, I followed a YouTube tutorial, released only a year ago called “Unreal Engine 4 Dynamic Facial Wrinkles Tutorial.”

In this tutorial, the guy isn’t using a normal map to represent the characters face so it’s slightly different that what I did. But, he did explain what to do in that case, and I think adding the extra “blend angle corrected normals” node was right since I got no errors when I complied it. But there’s two problems:

(1 After connecting the node to my Face shaders normal input, my characters face turned dark, the color is flickering, and it’s a little red.

(2 The second problem is that when I try to test out the wrinkle maps, I don’t see anything showing up. Am I testing it right, or do I need to create an animation, press “Play” and go into game mode, and see it that way?
