Is it still possible to generate LODs for single meshes in 4.19?
When you go to the Simplygon website, there’s no update for 4.19, and when I enable the new “proxy LOD replacement” system, nothing happens. Am I missing something?

You probably figured this out by now but, a skeletal mesh is different than a static mesh. You have to use the simplygon system for skeletal you have to get a licence and set it up, simplygon have videos on how to integrate it into ue4.
Actually, Simplygon works for both skeletal and static. As stated above, there appears to be no Simplygon support for 4.19, which is the actual problem.
Doesn’t 4.19 replace Simplygon completely? Release notes say:
“The new Proxy LOD system is an experimental Plugin for producing low poly LOD with baked materials for multiple meshes. The new system is used by HLOD and is a replacement for Simplygon.”
But if it doesn’t work with skeletal, then it could be a deal breaker for 4.19 - no skeletal LODs and no Simplygon…
What you are referring to is an entirely different system for creating HLOD’s using Proxy meshes.
I think it works now with the new Simplygon/Microsoft update. Tested it on a skeletal mesh in 4.19 and it worked, but didn’t test it extensively. Also was unsuccessful at installing the plugin for a custom engine build, which is touted to be possible. Anyone figure this out?
