4.14 Not exporting animation to FBX

Are you trying to export from UE4 to FBX? I don’t think you can export animations out that way.

Yes and yes you can. When I buy an animation package from the marketplace that does not included the “source” FBX, as they all should, I’ll export the in UE4 version and import into MotionBuilder so I can target them to what ever rig I wish. To get the last batch I had to add them to a 4.10 project. “Same” package that exports in 4.10 will not export in 4.14.

You must be joking that this isn’t working… Is the option missing or does it crash ?

Nothing happens. The current offender is the ClawWoman animation package.

Animations and characters in Infiltrator Demo do not export as well.

Sounds like a bug for sure. I’m not able to replicate this issue myself, but if you have an answerhub bug report going we can have our team investigate the cause. Let me know if you have one and I’ll make sure there is a follow up on it.

This is a known issue already: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-39640)

Note the workaround: “if export is selected from persona though the animation will be exported out correctly.”
