4.14 editor won't launch osx 10.9

Unreal Engine 4.14 won’t launch on my OSX 10.9.5
i had read about similar problem on the forum but nothing helps (i had disconnected USB from monitor, tried to download some patch but zip file is broken Unreal Editor won't launch (OS X) - Platform & Builds - Unreal Engine Forums)

should i update to 10.10.5? (would not like to do this)

Yes, as you have seen in your link, Mac OS X 10.10.5 is required. Further more, starting with UE4.14 open GL is no longer supported so you would need a GPU capable of running Metal (or a GPU that supports Open GL 4.4 for previous versions of the Engine)
