When editing a mesh with a multi material (Element 0, 1, etc), the ‘highlight’ option doesn’t work anymore. The other option ‘Isolate’ still works fine.
Hello Maxbrown,
I was able to highlight and isolate individual elements on my end. Can you reproduce this bug in a blank project? If so could you provide the exact steps you took to reach this issue?
Thank you for your time,
Hi Ed,
I just tested in 4.13.0 prev2. The issue for me is still there. Tested in blank and existing project:
- import fbx containing object with multiple materials (from Blender)
- edit the asset
- use checkbox ‘isolate’ works fine
- use checkbox ‘highlight’ doesn’t show any color (like it used to in 4.12 and before)
After some research I found that this issue has already been reported, you can find the Public JIRA here: Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-33414)
Strangely enough some assets don’t seem to be affected by this issue. I have no idea why that is currently but in the meant time you can track the bug to see if it has been fixed.
Thank you for submitting this post!
I also find that this is broken in 4.13.1.
It seems to be related to enabling/disabling of post-processing in the static mesh editor.
It works for me if I turn post-processing off in the preview settings window.
I tried this with the basic shapes (Cone, Cylinder, Cube) in the Engine/Content/BasicShapes folder.
I’ve updated the Bug report with this information to assist the developers. Thank you for posting your findings!
