[4.11 P1] Are the new gzip'd HTML5 file extensions going to be used from now on?

Hello,

I’m trying out the new 4.11 Preview 1 build’s HTML5 packaging and I noticed that the file extensions for gzip’d files are no longer [ext].gz but .[ext]gz (like .jsgz .symbolsgz etc.). Is this going to be the format for gzip’d file extensions from this point on? I need to know so I can change my web server to match the convention for consistency.
