3D Views don't show up in the dropdown list and Direct Link exporting doesn't work

Revit 22.1.30.34 and Datasmith 5.1.0.0

I'm in a Revit cloud model with a lot of 3D views (90+) and the Datasmith view selection dropdown doesn't show all the views in the project. When I select any 3D view from the available list I get the error message "Please select a 3D view".

I opened up a Revit sample project and Datasmith worked fine. I wasn't sure if it's because of the size of my project or that it's a cloud model I'm experiencing errors.

In effort to get my model to work with Datasmith, I detached my model out of the cloud, purged out all views except the ones I needed, and I was able to get Datasmith to finally see my views and export them.

Is there a working solution to this problem?

HI ,

Are you still having issues with this? If so, I noticed you mentioned you were using the 5.1.0 version of the Datasmith plugin. A newer 5.1.1 version of the plugin is available from https://unrealstudio.epicgames.com/UnrealDatasmithRevitExporter_5_1_1.msi. If you haven't already, please try the updated plugin and see if that helps. If it doesn't help, if you can share a copy of the Revit file, please submit a bug report at https://twinmotionhelp.epicgames.com/s/case-community-page with a copy of the file for our support team to investigate.

Best,

Raghib

I’m experiencing a similar issue. When I check the drop-down list of views, none of the newer views created in the file are appearing. Additionally, some of the older views are also missing, which complicates the process of importing new variations of the model into Twinmotion.

I’m currently working on a Revit 2023 model with the latest Datasmith plug-in (version 5.2.1).
