3D model from 360 panorama

Hi all,

Can anybody advice how to create 3D model from 360 panorama, if it’s possible? I need to create 3D building facades… :!: :!:

Thank you

Hi Vlad

Hope you have some sample data to test it and let us know if it worked…

If it’s stitched panoramas I’d go back to the source images to attempt a 3D model. Each panorama is only equivalent to 1 camera (all images from the same viewpoint) so you’d need a few panoramas at the very least. The distance between panoramas is usually too high in your average panorama tour. A few people have tried to do both and noted that they had to shoot 3-4x as many panoramas as they normally would for pano tour.

Hi Vlad,

If you do not have the original photos (unstitched) then its difficult because the stitching algorithm can corrupt the lens distortion etc.
If you are using a ladybug, then try to get the individual images, or as many panoramas as possible to reduce error.

Hi all.
Thank you for your suggestions and help.
