3D JotaArt - JA - PSX Shader + Vertex Jitter - VFX Pack

PSX Shader + Vertex Jitter VFX Pack

This VFX pack instantly brings back the iconic visual style of the original PlayStation era — perfect for retro or lowpoly projects.

Includes:

  • PSX Post-Processing Shader: A post-process material that faithfully replicates the raw, low-res rendering of classic PSX games, complete with pixelation, posterization, and that nostalgic visual grit. Fully compatible with all lighting in your scene, supporting both dynamic and static lights without issues.

  • Vertex Jitter Function: A versatile material function you can plug into any material to add the classic vertex jitter — that subtle, shaky motion seen in many PS1-era models. Fully customizable, letting you tweak the intensity and style of the effect to match your project’s needs.

This VFX pack is ideal for developers seeking an authentic, easy-to-implement, and highly customizable retro effect. Perfect for stylized games, lowpoly horror, or any production aiming for that unmistakable retro touch.

Hello!

I was thinking on buying your shader but I was wondering how hard it is to implement or if there’s a tutorial on how to do it before purchasing it.

Thank you!

Hi, sorry for the delay.

It’s not complicated to implement, since it’s based on a fully customizable material for a Post Process Volume, editable entirely through its instance. If you want it to affect UMG, there’s also a dedicated material with its own instance that can be applied directly to the widget (everything is explained inside the project).

The same applies to the Vertex Jitter, which is set up as a material function, fully configured and ready to be dragged and dropped into your materials.

I hope this helps clear up any doubts. I’m sure you’ll really enjoy this package, and I can’t wait to see the amazing things you create with it.

All the best!

I’m currently looking into the option of creating a demo for everyone who asks for something to try out this effect.
