3D Environment Artist – UE4

Burning Arrow Ltd is seeking an experienced 3D environment artist to work alongside their development team on an upcoming PC title, “The Other 99”. The role will be remote, and will consist of a minimum contract length of 6 months with a possibility of extension.

The role focuses heavily on foliage; therefore a strong portfolio demonstrating multiple examples of foliage is advised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing the visual appearance of in-game 3D environments with heavy focus on foliage
  • Create concept work to demonstrate expected visual direction
  • Create foliage and unique props to match a realistic art style
  • Optimise assets and environments to maximise game performance
  • Provide regular updates and demonstrations of work created to the core development team

Required Attributes

  • Experience in creating visually appealing environments within Unreal Engine 4
  • Strong understanding of the technical pipeline (including limitations) for assets within Unreal Engine 4
  • A keen eye for spatial composition within larger landscapes when building believable scenes
  • Proficient with 3DS Max and ZBrush (Or equivalent software)
  • Strong foliage creation skills
  • Strong communication and self-management skills

Advantageous Attributes

  • Experience with SpeedTree asset creation tool
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
  • Experience with Perforce
