Hansan-class Battlecruiser
The 3D model I’ve completed this time is the 'Hansan,' a fictional battlecruiser styled after the Korean Empire era. While I have built various warships in Blender, this is my first time creating a battlecruiser with a World War I or early interwar period aesthetic.
The specifications are as follows:
Type: BattlecruiserDisplacement: 37,128tLength: 225mBeam: 27.6mHeight (incl. masts): 53mMax Speed: 28 knotsMain Armament: 8 x 12-inch guns, 18 x 5-inch gunsPropulsion: 4 screws, steam turbines
Since I had never modeled an early-to-mid 20th-century warship in Blender before, I expected it to take quite a while. Furthermore, with university classes starting on March 3rd, I anticipated the project would take at least 10 days.
However, the process was smoother than expected; I managed to finish 80% of the model within the first three days. I spent the remaining five days focusing on the finer details.
Overall, I am very pleased with how it turned out. If the opportunity arises, I would love to design more fictional warships for the Korean Empire in the future.
P.S.I originally planned to model the Chinese Type 055 destroyer next, followed by the 'CSSC Discovery-1' drone ship. However, those plans are temporarily on hold, as I recently received an unexpected commission via Instagram to create a bus model.
