What folder were you running this command from? Can you provide any information about your process leading up to the error you received? This will help me test/reproduce the behavior on my end.

Okay I’m gonna post the whole process:

  1. Git clone the release branch to ~/ue4-projects

  2. cd ~/ue4-projects/UnrealEngine

  3. ./Setup.sh

  4. cd ~/ue4-projects/UnrealEngine/Engine/Build/BatchFiles

  5. ./RunUAT.sh BuildGraph -target=“Make Installed Build Linux” -script=Engine/Build/InstalledEngineBuild.xml -set:HostPlatformOnly=true -set:WithDDC=false -clean – Installed build compiles fine, you can run UE4Editor from ~/ue4-projects/UnrealEngine/LocalBuilds/Engine/Linux/Engine/Binaries/Linux –

sixth. Creating a new code project by running UE4Editor and selecting it or opening it from there causes the project to be compiled and the above shown error is thrown - there’s also another way of reproducing this by running ./UE4Editor /somelocation/someue4prj/someue4prj.uproject

Thats basically it - i mean there are several workarounds but we want to go with the installed build for reasons described on the docs
