Doors & Gates is one of the most complete door libraries we have put together. The coverage runs from 16th century heritage buildings through to modern apartment blocks, covering virtually every type of door, gate, window and lock hardware a sound editor is likely to need across a full production.
The period recording section covers doors from 16th century libraries, 17th century damaged latches, 18th century banquet halls and Victorian entrances, each with the weight and room character of the real building. Cottage doors with rattling latches, heavy oak and glass doors, reclaimed pine panels and squeaking hinges all make it in. Modern coverage includes apartment entrance and hallway doors, bathroom and bedroom doors in multiple perspectives, kitchen cabinets, hotel room doors, office fire doors and solid studio doors.
Exterior recordings cover garden gate latch operations, rusted padlocked metal gates, metal castle gate shaking, large metal garage doors and exterior Victorian front entrances. The hardware detail is deep: cylinder key turns, mortice key operations, dead bolt latches, sliding bolt latches, Victorian brass lever locks, cast iron knob rotations, handle lever movements in hard and soft variants, keypad presses and security alarm sequences.
The knock section alone covers anxious knocking, frightened knocking, rhythmic patterns, glass, PVC, oak, single and triple knocks, done nervously, excessively, slowly or heavily. All sounds are fully metadata tagged and ready for Unreal, Unity, Wwise, and FMOD.
