[crash] 4.7 server - UMGEditor related

My game works fine in editor (Client + server) and launching client only outside of the game. When I try to run a server that the client can connect to it crashes with the following.

How can I track down the cause?

I have a few questions that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed set of steps to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. Could you provide screen shots of any blueprints that may be involved with this issue?

I just tried a clean project and tried to load in my UMG related HUD. Annoyingly exporting and then importing to another project triggers that problem where the parent class doesn’t exist, and nothing I try in the ActiveClassRedirects will reparent the Widget to the class in my test project.

Nothing I’ve created so far has managed to reproduce the problem.

I’m currently fiddling with the blueprints from my game mode to see if I can isolate which one causes the issue in order to answer #3.

As an alternative is it possible to privately send you the entire project?

LogUObjectGlobals:Warning: Failed to load '/Script/UMGEditor': Can't find file '/Script/UMGEditor'

It seems that this is caused because when running an uncooked server, the UMG module is not loaded. This is patched in the promoted branch, so you could expect this to be solved in the next release. (It is reported as issue UE-11311.)

You can solve this by building the engine from source (see the GitHub README for instructions and other Answerhub posts on how to do this); but instead of release 4.7.4, checkout the promoted branch. Another solution is waiting for the next release.
