The genre you choose determines which Discover genre row your island can appear in. Stable, accurate genres help players find the experiences they want. Starting on Wednesday, June 10, genre changes in Creator Portal will have a 30-day cooldown.
How it works:
- You can change an island’s genre once every 30 days when publishing your island. After you’ve changed your island’s genre, you will be able to do so again in 30 days.
- The cooldown isn’t retroactive at launch, so any genre selections made before June 10 will not trigger a cooldown.
- Only switching to a different genre starts the cooldown. Re-publishing with the same genre selected doesn’t.
- Every island gets one skip-the-wait token, use this to change genre without waiting the full 30 days . It’s one token per island, for the lifetime of the island.
