3 Things which I miss

First, great work at ue4, it’s amazing

But i miss 3 things:

  1. You don’t have a game mode where you can walk at the beginning of a new project, like you had in ue3, is kind missing there.
  2. In ue3 the grid was set to 2, 4, 8, 16, …, now it’s making jumps of 1, 5, 10, … I would like to have the possibility for more settings.
  3. You guys did a great job with advancing parallax occlusion in ue4, but to use this highly complex material is like looking for the bird in the trees. Couldn’t you bring it in as a single node in order to simplify those 100 instructions?

Looking forward for upcoming content
Greetings Black

Hi!

  1. Download some samples. There are a couple of good walking based projects there.

  2. You can add more grid sizes in the Editor Preferences:
Goto Edit>Editor Preferences>Viewports> Expand Gridsnapping and add your desired sized Decimal Grid Size.

Cheers,
Jon

2 -> thanks for the quick reply. I’ve overseen/not found this option, thanks a lot.

1 -> I am aware of that, but i would like to have this back in the standard world properties, there is plenty of space left for game modes so why not?

Maybe this is something Epic will add in a future update?

Well i hope so^^
I just dislike the “flying-mode”

So… we need 100+ instructions to have parallax occlusion? WTF?
