I’m really excited to see the next generation of ARK mods (and the great mods that currently exist enter!). Good luck everyone, we’ll keep pressing onwards with making the ARK Dev Kit better every week too!
Cheers,
Update: Due to some exciting announcements, we’ve extended the mod submission deadline to April 1st. Hopefully this gives you more time to fine-tune the awesome content we’ve been seeing.
I wanted to enter last contest but was a bit worried. There are hundreds of great mods out there, and i was kind of overwhelmed but this time for sure ill submit one.
What about team entries? If an entry that was made by, let’s say, 3 people wins, the prize will be split in 3 parts and sent by you (through PayPal?) to them or?
Also, I have in mind to add new weapons in the game. We are able to replace the original ones or we gotta get a new slot for that?
For team entries, please enter the information for all team members, and yes the prize willb e split. For new weapons, that would typically be done as a “Mod”.
The sticker badge PNG’s will be added for download from the contest entry page as soon as it appears back online
The mods made with the current Dev Kit have many incompatibility bugs, can’t release a mod that seems to work fine in the Dev Kit but it doesn’t work in the actual game.
Is Very misleading to have my mod work in the Dev Kit but not work at all in the actual game
Your current version of the game is not recognizing changes made the primal game data file; I have remapped spawners to let my dino variants spawn in the wild but NOW is not working, I already had three mods published in the Steam Workshop, three different versions of the Giganotosaurus, my mods were working fine and many people was subscribed to them but after the recent nerfs my mods were not working anymore.
I made again one of my mods from scratch and is working fine in the Dev Kit but it doesn’t work at all in the game. If I use the summon console command to spawn one of my dino variants nothing happens as if the command is no longer recognized, but then when I use the console command spawndino I can actually spawn my dino variant and AFTER THAT the summon command starts working again
The console command addexperience is broken too, no way to test stats growth in my single player game before releasing a mod.
I use the Epic Game Launcher version of the Dev Kit -don’t tell me I should be using the Github version- I haven’t seen the notification saying “Don’t waste your time and bandwidth downloading a glitched and useless Dev Kit version from Epic Game Launcher”
So I wasted many hours -again- trying to make a mod thanks to your broken tools released as functional.
Sorry to make it so hard for you to understand pezz, let me see if I can put it in terms closer to your mental capacity:
If you create a mod with a broken/glitched Dev Kit your mod is not likely to work at all. You need a functional mod to enter a mod contest, don’t you think?
And if you say that something is not working or something is wrong with the tools you have to describe what problems are you having while clearing up common mistakes that some people would think you have committed.
Maybe your mental capacity needs to be checked? because i have 7 mods from the latest dev kit all with many subs and all work flawlessly…maybe learn to use the dev kit first? good day
Was downloading the Dev Kit for days; paused it, turned off my PC and turned it on today. Went to resume the download and then it tells me I need 75GB of free space (which I don’t have anymore on the disk). Same happened yesterday, but with the fact that it resumed and continued from where I’ve left before. I mean really, why do I need 75GB of free space every time I resume the download even though it doesn’t start the download from the beginning?
