2DShape (or Spline) Asset

Dear UE team,

It would be great to have a “shape asset” that can be called in blueprints and used as SplineComponent.
An example of use : it would let to save some “sweep profiles”, to convert them as polypath and plug into “polyline vertices” of the geoscript “append sweep polyline”

I’d like to create a window tool for archviz, and then I need to save spline profiles.

You can create a function that cuts a mesh, extract the cut part, get its vertices locations, sort the locations counter clockwise, depending on the orientation extract the 2d vectors from the points, usually its ZX or ZY, depending on how you created the profile geometry, and there you go :slight_smile:
