This is for those that take 2D development seriously.
The goal is to form a small to medium sized group of developers focused into 2D using UE4.
Benefits:
- Increase the 2D development presence in the UE4 community
- Be aware of what projects the members are working in
- Ask specific questions that sometimes doesn’t get answered in the Answer HUB or forums
- Make suggestions for improvements or bug reports to the UE4 staff as GROUP rather than individuals, filtering and improving the request details, and making sure there is isn’t a work around
- Create a best practices library, based on released games
- Have a clear portfolio of games per each community member, this would incentive the question-answer making
- Aim for a 24/7 group communication whenever the members are online (America/Europe/etc)
- Create a magazine using content submitted by the community, and distribute it each month
- Provide the community a platform to submit and share content with only the people that are invited to the previously created project, in order to have an easier team work platform
- Form teams online by looking at other people portfolios and experience
- More to be listed
However there are some points you must cover prior joining the group:
- You have either: Worked, are working or have finished up a 2D game using UE4, any field accepted (Design, development, etc)
- You must be able to communicate in English
- You must have presence in the community at least twice a month, this could be a hard point for some, but we are looking for active game developers/designers
- You must be willing to share your knowledge, post in Unreal Answer HUB, forums, and any other platform
- You must be willing to share information about projects you are related to, it is understandable that not all information can be shared, but at least to some extent
