First

When you use the simplify model you get 2 models, the original one and the simplified one. How can I export the simplified model if I use the mesh export option? I want to export the simplified version not the complete version, I don’t see how to select the specific model.

Second

I work with difficult environments where I can’t get light in all places. So I can’t avoid empty holes, I would like to export what I see when I select “vertices” in the render scene section. If I select “sweet” or “solid” the programme fills the gaps with strange textures. I know it does the best it can but it is simply impossible to fill properly so much holes without information.

So, How can I export just the surfaces that the programme has identified properly without filling the gaps?

THanks!!!

Hello santifis,

  1. In the left-most 1Ds view you can see the list of all models created under the component. Simply select the simplified model with the left mouse click. When the model is selected you can see purple vertical line next to it. Then when you click to export mesh, the selected model is exported.
  2. RC creates water-tight meshes therefore it is filling the volume by default. You can use advanced selection tools, mark the marginal triangles (the ones that enclose the volume) and filter them out. You can find more information in the Help - Selection of triangles in 3D or in this article:
    https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015263812-Removal-of-large-triangles

If you wish to export only vertices of the created mesh, you can do it when selecting format “XYZ point cloud” during mesh export.
