2 problem in destructible mesh

Not sure if i should start a new thread for this or not, but i’m interested in setting a material instance constant for a destructible mesh. I’ve found a good way to regulate incoming damage on a destructible so it builds up as intended, but when I try and access the material and create a dynamic instance with an updated scalar parameter, nothing seems to happen in either material index. any thoughts on a good approach to this?
