2.5 camera and spawn issue any ideas ?

I am rather new to UE and I decided to make a 2.5 scroller I can not for the life of me figure out why when I go through the level the camera comes to a stop but my pawn can continue running indefinitely until it hits the edge of the landscape. The camera only seems to be following for a short distance compared to the size of the landscape, it can move X -1500 to X 9000. As I mentioned the landscape a distance the pawn can continue to travel after the camera stops is roughly +80k in X. This also effects where I can spawn my character also, seems that -1500 off the center of the landscape is the furthest it will work.. if anyone could give me some advice or if anyone knows a fix for this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

Hello @Gowmar, Welcome back to the forum!

Could you show a bit of your setup and what you have so far? That way we can take a closer look and figure out where the issue might be.

Here’s a generic setup that should work
In the Camera Boom you have to disable the “Use pawn control rotation” and “inherit Pitch and Yaw” and Enable the “Camera lag”

Rotate the camera 90 degrees so it looks something like this

Then if im not wrong you can disable the axis nodes

And in IMC_Default, you can also change the controls so the character moves using A/D or the Left/Right arrow keys, replacing W with D, S with A, and doing the same for the arrow keys by replacing Up with Right and Down with Left.

Also, since you mentioned you’re new to Unreal, here’s a playlist from the Unreal channel where they explain how to make a 2.5D game. It might help you pick up some references for your project.

I’ll be waiting for your reply!
