Every first time I launch the editor I get an insanely long load time, like 10-25 minutes.
After that, each next launch is super fast 30-90s.
The parts that take a lot of time are:
- initial splash screen - after the launch it takes about 1-2m till the UE appears on the task bar and shows a splashscreen. It’s present in Task Manager all that time though,
- steps with “loading X modules for X plugin “ - this is where most of the time is spent.
Specs: UE 5.7.0, win11, 64gb ram, intel ultra 7 265, rtx 5070, c++ project. Task manager usages are: disc 2%, CPU 6%, memory 22%.
This happens on first launch of UE after starting the PC.
Happens also when I launch it first time after 6 hours since the PC booted (so seems not to be a ‘cold boot’ issue).
Happens when no files were changed since last launch.
Happens every time I reboot.
It happens only to one user, it’s a freshly setup PC, fresh system installation.
Things that we tried, that did not help:
- Excluding .exe files in the antivirus
- Deleting Binaries / Intermediate / Saved
- Re-downloading whole repo
- Turning on very long file names in regedit
- Changing repo drive
- CrystalDiskInfo reports all drives at 100%, no visible errors or red flags
What else can we try?
