[1.0.3.9696] termination code 4

Hi, I have confused by termination code of 1.0.3.9696.

I received termination code 4 even in such simple CLI below.

> RealityCapture.exe -quit

Zero is always returned when I close RC from GUI.

I’m handling termination code in my scripts, so it’s a little problem for me.

What is the meaning of termination code 4?

Is it a bug or a specification of RC?

Hello Hiroshi,

this seems more of a Windows error message. I tried to search for it and the error code 4 when running a script might appear when there is a problem to reach some file. Can you please check the permissions and access rights for all the files and directories in your script  that are used before quitting the application? Thanks.

I checked permissions of all files. And I reached only “-quit” command for testing at last. Older version (1.0.3.6310) returned always zero at the termination by “-quit” command. I’ve changed error handler for 1.0.3.9696. However, code 4 is not normal, I think.

 

By the way, did you change anything related to update policy on December 1st? 1.0.3.6310 suddenly stopped processing at the beginning of reconstruction process due to an unknown error after December 1st 9:00 JST (it is 0:00 UTC). My scripts are running everyday 24H.

So I had to update 1.0.3.6310 to 1.0.3.9696 last Sunday. After changing my scripts for 1.0.3.9696, I met this issue.

if it is possible to send me your script, I will try to reproduce the error on our side. We can then identify if it is a bug on our side. If possible, please send it to

Version 6310 has expired therefore it was necessary to update to the current version.

Thank you for your help. I sent a very short test script to you.

We should to know expiration date of older version at least one month before. Because we’re using RC everyday in our workflow and it is not easy to update in our daily business. Such “sudden death” is a biggest problem for all users.

I trust RC very much. Probably it is the best photogrammetry software. I would be happy if you could think of some countermeasures.
